Transcriptions
acrylic on canvas
2004
- present
After something breaks, I make another painting.
These achromatic paintings entitled, Transcriptions, are literal transcriptions of the patterns made by circuit boards of broken or outdated electronic devices, owned and used by me. This ongoing project contemplates the endless accumulation of objects, the distance between user and object, the progress of technology and ultimately the waste that is left in it’s wake. The circuit boards are scaled up, in part or full, so that they can be read in a different way, as individual paintings or as an installation.
